Your question presupposes something that’s not accurate. Your term “neocon fundies”, supposedly meaning neocon fundamentalists, is grossly inaccurate, and shows that you have bought into the myth of the current definition of a conservative.

A neocon is not a fundamentalist. Far from it. Neocons are former liberals, who still believe in many liberal ideas–particularly where moral issues are concerned. Many of Bush’s chief advisers have gone on record as saying that they are ok with abortion, sodomy, etc. There is nothing fundamentalist about that position.

Bush himself, of course, is certainly not a true conservative either. If he was, he would be in favor of limited federal government, securing the borders, and limited spending. He has shown himself on the wrong side, from a conservative point of view, on all of those issues.

Conservatives, and Christian conservatives, are not opposed to science, as long as it is not junk science. Global warming is junk science, but the media has managed to shut down intellectual debate on this issue, merely maintaining Gore’s party line about what he apparently thinks the issue is all about, and his desire for more government–both on the national and international level.

Global warming is a natural cyclic event which man has accelerated greatly by putting Billions of TONS of pollutants into our atmosphere, just like our volcanoes have done! We have impacted our environment, wether you believe it or not doesn’t matter. Strange that intelligent people think we have not done anything to accelerate this process.
